Dear Wonderful Readers,
I am here to wish you the most blissful full-on spring and to let you know that i am going to hit the “pause button” on my Dispatch for a spell. it’s an option offered to writers on Substack, and one can imagine that for all kinds of reasons, when life gets in the way of this newsletter routine, it sometimes makes a lot of sense to just take a minute.
This means that you will not be receiving a newsletter from me for a bit (not sure yet how long of a break i’ll be taking) and during this period of time you will not be charged. charging will resume when i begin posting again.
Currently we are about halfway through our construction project (a miracle!) here on Chappaquiddick and we need to move out of our rental house (for their summer renters) and into one of our smaller cottages (The Mizzen) at our site over the next couple of weeks. also, the other little cottage (The Rudder) is getting a full renovation. in other words, a lot to accomplish and focus on.
Meanwhile, the farm stands are brimming with peas! asparagus! radishes! spring lettuce! go out and fill your baskets, bags and arms with the bounty we’ve been dreaming of all winter here in the Northeast.
And if you’re a paid subscriber (thank you so much), you have access to all of my previous posts — but especially pertinent right now is my Dispatch no. 2 from last May, which brings you to the heart of this season. i like that one quite a bit.
in any case, i will be back in your inbox before you know it!
I hope you relish the rest of May, truly the best month.
thank you, as ever,
x
phoebe

I know your wheels will be turning throughout your moving and re-organizing and look forward to your Dispatch when the time is right. Can’t wait for what’s next!
You rock! Xoxo
